What is RC3?

 

Dr. Patricia Iris's Rapid Cycle Culture Change (RC3) program trains health care professionals in proven methods of identifying, implementing, and measuring changes to improve their processes and systems. Her program draws from her experience as a Senior Examiner and Judge for the National Baldrige Performance Excellence Program, as well as from her Health Care Quality Improvement Fellowship with Dr. Brent James, current Executive Director of the Institute for Health Care Delivery Research at Intermountain Health. 

 

RC3 participants work in teams and set global outcome measures based on agreed upon goals with improvements occurring through rapid PDSA (Plan, Do, Study, Act) cycles of change. RC3 training includes active participation, team building, and group work designed to create inclusive, collaborative environments of excellence and apply change tools to continually improve clinical outcomes.

Over the past 13 years, Dr. Patricia Iris has led 200 teams and trained 20 facilitators in RC3, resulting in an average 30% improvement in outcomes.
